Brushes and Beats

Through the provision of Night Time Economy Funding, Brushes and Beats will provide opportunity for an unforgettable journey into creativity and expression in Dundalk. 

Members of LGBTQ+  Youth Group Dundalk Outcomers and Dundalk Youth Centre will work with acclaimed mural artist Omin on creating a thrilling mural painting as well as producing mural boards together at a creative workshops with Omin. From brainstorming designs to wielding brushes, they’ll learn every step of the process under Omin’s expert guidance. 

But the excitement doesn’t stop there!  These youth groups will work with other young performers from Dundalk to steal the spotlight and light up the stage at renowned live music venue The Spirit Store with electrifying live performances. Prior to the performance, they’ll be given the chance to  explore rhythms in drumming workshops with local musician Daire Stanley, and unleash their inner designer by printing their own merchandise with talented artist Gráinne Murphy. Participants will also have the opportunity to sound engineer the event and record the performances via filmography. 

It’s a one-of-a-kind opportunity for teens to unleash their creativity, make memories, and leave their mark on Dundalk’s vibrant arts scene.
